My idea behind starting this blog is in the hopes of starting a beer tasting group here in Ft. Collins. I'm not sure if this format is the best way, it seems like a set up to mostly talk about myself, but I'm giving it a try. This beer trading is addicitve and I want to learn how to appreciate good microbrews, but with others. It also can get pricey and lonely doing it by myself. So we'll see where this goes!
Picked up a 6-pack sampler from Grand Lake Brewing, most of the beers seemed kind or un-eventful(including the I.P.A) except for the Rocky Mountain Red. Still sittin on the Wooly Bugger (brown) which I've had on tap at the Lariat in Grand Lake (and loved) but never had it out of a bottle
ReplyDeleteHow was the Frieke tapping at O'Dells?
ReplyDeleteThe Friek was pretty good. Just not my type of beer, taste like drinking wine to me. But everyone else really liked it. I did have a Flagship Oak Aged (which is 90 Shilling oak aged), it was okay as well, but I prefer my regualr '90'. Then topped the night off with a Red. The band was really good as well, the place was packed, with a line out the door most of the night. We got there early and didn't have to wait long and got a table. I may shoot down to OB Tasty Weasel taproom after work on Wednesday. They have a limited, one time only beer 'One Hit Wonder' that is on tap and selling for $15 for a 6 pack. Its a 9% double IPA, I believe. Let me know if you want to go!
